Walleye were a five-piece hardcore/emo band from Newark, Delaware that formed in 1991 and broke up in 1997, with reunion shows occurring in 2017 and 2018. Sonically, they were rooted in the chunky, distorted guitars of hardcore, though brought some melodic sensbility to it, similar to what bands like Split Lip, Falling Forward and Turning Point were also doing around this time. They sit somewhere between the brim of chaos that dominated the early emo in the late 80's/early 90's and the cleaner, midwestern sound that become prominent in the latter half of the decade. Walleye were an early Jade Tree band, with their best-known releases coming out on the label. This includes an EP, split, and their sole full-length. All of those are included here, plus some compilation tracks. However, there is some material missing, most notably the track from their split with Serpico, the
Land Of Milk And Honey 7", and "Of A Lesser Degree" from the
Compulsiv For Two compilation. So, if anyone has those, please let me know. Enjoy!
