Radura

Radura are a four-piece screamo/post-hardcore band from Milan, Italy that began in 2016. Since then, they've released two EP's, a split, and a full-length. I have been sorely missing out, because this band is absolutely incredible. Effetto Della Veduta D'Insieme makes for a gorgeous and cathartic listen, with the band crafting some of the most serene and ethereal music while still falling under the screamo umbrella. They take heavy influence from post-rock bands such as Explosions In The Sky, with the reverb and delay dialed up and the songs building into huge crescendos. They maintain a sense of energy with some pounding drums alongside vocals that are screamed, sung and spoken to convey a devastated longing, even without being able to understand a single word. Its nine tracks all offer something new, with its openers even incorporating a dreamy acoustic sound. Fans of bands including Daïtro, La Quiete, Raein, Envy, Suis La Lune, Pianos Become The Teeth, and Shizune would be remiss to not check this out. Enjoy.

The Death Of Anna Karina are a five-piece screamo band from Italy that formed in 1999. Though they've gone through a few line-up changes and extended breaks, they've been active in some form for nearly twenty years now, which is almost unheard of for a screamo band. They've released three full-lengths to date, displaying the bands vast progression in style. Overall though, they could draw comparisons to other amazing screamo bands such as Orchid, Daitro and Envy, as well as the obvious Italian bands Raein and La Quiete. Aggressive, progressive, screamo, can't go wrong. Enjoy.

La Quiete

La Quiete are a five-piece screamo band from Forli, Italy that formed in 2000 and are surprisingly still around now. though they haven't released anything since 2008. Their name should be already known to most, since they're one of the biggest screamo bands to emerge this century. They also share members with another very noteworthy Italian band, which is of course Raein. A few notes on their discography: they've only released one LP, which came out in 2004. It's a skramz essential, so don't pass that up. Between 2001 and 2005, they released a slew of splits and such, all of which are compiled on Tenpeun. Two self-titled 7"'s followed, both of which are included on 2006-2009. The splits with Louise Cyphre and Phoenix Bodies weren't included on any compilation, so I included the actual splits down below. La Quiete are a defining band for European screamo/hardcore, and simply one of the best bands in their genre, so enjoy.

Shizune

Shizune are a five-piece screamo/post-hardcore band from Lonigo, Italy. Since 2012, they've been releasing some of the best screamo around now. They continue what bands like Raein and La Quiete have been doing, which is making incredibly visceral, but technically proficient, emotional hardcore. They are the definition of "beauty in chaos", by driving melodic guitars through blasts of drum beats and scorching vocals. Their latest release, Le Voyageur Imprudent is easily one of, if not the best screamo/post-hardcore records you're going to hear all year, so get on this now. Their back catalogue is equally impressive, with numerous albums to their name that pummel through emotional excruciation that never ceases to demand attention. Plus, Shizune work with two of the best record labels out there, Driftwood Records and Dog Knights Productions, which are both worth looking into. Not only for their impressive roster, but to support them as much as they support some of the best bands out there now. Enjoy.

Raein

Raein is a screamo band from Italy that began in 2002, went on hiatus in 2005, returned in 2007, and are still around today. They share members with fellow screamo titans La Quiete. Raein are one of the most essential and influential bands within their genre, and for good reason. I don't think this band needs much more of an introduction, since the music can speak for itself from here. Seriously, check this band out if you haven't already, you're missing out.
