Reversal Of Man

Reversal Of Man were a screamo/hardcore band from Tampa, Florida that began in 1995 and disbanded in 2000. It is my absolute delight to realize one of the most quintessential "screamo" bands have not been posted on here yet, and I can share their discography before this decade ends. It's another reminder that there is truly an endless amount of material to be posted, even if its this late in the life of this blog. Reversal Of Man are an incredibly influential act, who blended the developing sounds of hardcore, powerviolence, grindcore, emo, post-hardcore and screamo into their own niche blend. This developed in a non-existent Florida scene, or at least one that allowed for the progressive and forward-thinking political statements RoM set out to make (especially in regards to the emerging neo-Nazism perceived in the punk scene).

To this day, they stand as one of the most talented, prolific, and influential bands of their genre, and are undoubtedly vital in developing the sound we've all come to know and love. They had a lengthy discography spanning multiple splits and various releases, but the majority is readily available below. Most notably it includes an EP and an LP (Revolution Summer and This Is Medicine respectively), in addition to a semi-full compilation aptly titled Discography which includes all tracks released in their tenure, aside from the aforementioned releases. They also released a posthumous split with fellow Florida natives Combatwoundedveteran, in which both sides are worth your time to listen to. Like I said, I can't believe I have yet to post a band I consider "essential" to the genre, and I thoroughly hope you enjoy.
