Anomie

Anomie were a four-piece screamo/post-hardcore from France that existed from 1994-1997. They formed from a previous band called Escape. Anomie were noted for their female/male vocal dynamics, as well as their drummer being 13 at the time he joined. They pioneered the sound that French screamo bands would later hone in the 2000's, such as Amanda Woodward, Sed Non Satiata, Daïtro, Mihai Edrisch, etc. After the dissolution of Anomie, members formed numerous other bands including Anna O, whose unreleased demo I also included, since it sounds strikingly similar to Anomie's work. Check out the video below, it's some incredibly powerful stuff, and is what first got me into them. Enjoy.

  5. Is there any website that would have the lyrics for some of these songs? I notice that under some songs uploaded on youtube there are the french and english translations but I'd love it if there were an easier way to find them all together. Would anyone know if there are lyric sheets attached to their physical copies?

    1. Here is a pdf with all the songs translated to English. It's imperfect but you can tell what they mean.

  7. Is there a reliable way to get their music? Downloading it from the links doesn't seem possible (either that or I'm too inept to figure out how to do it without accidentally downloading a virus in the process). Can't find any physical copies of their music nor can I find good places to download it without ripping it straight from YouTube (which I wanna avoid doing for the time being). Any help or advice would be appreciated! Thank you!
