The Jealous Sound

The Jealous Sound were a four-piece emo/indie band from Los Angeles, California that began in 2000, were briefly on hiatus in the latter half of the 2000's, and disbanded in 2017, They were formed by vocalist/guitarist Blair Shehan following the break-up of his former band Knapsack, an absolute staple of emo in the 90's. He was joined by other members previously active in other notable band (including Sunday's Best) to form The Jealous Sound. Over the years together, they only recently two full-length albums (both of which are fantastic though) and a few EP's. Sonically, they are much more polished and subdued than their previous projects, maintaining melancholy but with a slightly more mature and melodic edge. In a way they are the Hey Mercedes to Knapsack's Braid, with a linear development in sound, even with the change in bands. Following The Jealous Sound, members formed Racquet Club, who put out one album in 2017. Below is their full discography, with deluxe versions included of their two studio albums. If you grab those, you have virtually all their material. It's criminal that it took nearly 1000 posts to finally get around to doing this band, and if you haven't heard them back and cannot suggest checking them out enough. Enjoy.
