2024 is coming to a close, which means the indundation of lists. Before the year ends I had to throw my 2 cents into the pile, thus another "Best Of" list to wind things down. Not that they needed winding down, this has been one of the most inactive years this blog has seen since it started (on my end, not you guys who continue to come back month after month despite my radio silence). Thanks to all of you for the continued support, coming back to do these final posts has been genuinely fun, and hopefully I'll be able to keep that going into next year.
As always this list isn't objective in any sense, it's based purely on my personal enjoyment. The actual rankings are also just approximatations at best; it's excruciating to try and pick one album over another so take all of this with a grain of salt. They shifted around SO MUCH that I eventually just decided to post this as is, it's meant to be fun and there's no use getting hung up on numbers, they're all great and this is meant to be for fun. In the spirit of that, there's two bands that released what are technically two separate albums, but they were both coming in so close to each other in the ranking that I'm counting them together, who cares it's my list and I didn't want to leave any more off it than I had to. We're also doing 10 honourable mentions instead of 5 this year because there were so many good, representative albums of the year to me that I wanted to mention. There are Spotify links at the bottom, with one playlist containing every album listed here and another with one song I picked from each album (not necessarily the "best" or my "favourite" track, just one that I think is serviceably representative of the album as a whole).
So as always, please let me know what you guys enjoyed most this year, I'm always very curious to hear what you've been listening to. I hope you have a good holiday and a good New Year, though I think I'll be back with one final semi-special post before the year truly ends, so keep an eye out for that. Enjoy.

You don't post links for these?
ReplyDeleteI don't with these lists; the way they usually go half of the albums are linked on the band's respective posts, and the other half are copyright strikes waiting to happen, so I refrain from posting links entirely here.
DeleteA lot of these can be found on the 2024 in Review... post if you want to check that out though!
