The Crownhate Ruin were a short-lived post-hardcore band from Washington, D.C., that were active from 1994 to 1996. The band consisted of ex-members of Hoover (immediately after that band's break-up) and 1.6 Band. Members later went on to play in June of 44. If you could place a sound between the two aforementioned bands, The Crownhate Ruin hit that fix. Their sole LP came out on Dischord Records, a discordant, off-beat affair with heavy emphasis on bass/drum riffage. It never quite hits the intensive highs of Hoover, but certainly deserves a repeat listen, as it is an undeniably underrated LP. Enjoy.
