After School Knife Fight

After School Knife Fight were a five-piece screamo band from Kamloops, British Columbia that were only around between 2001 and 2002. They released one EP, which was 2002's Jousting With The Intention Of Hurting People. As both the band and album name would suggest, this band is a little odd, and of course that's a good thing. They definitely take a lot of influence from Saetia, especially with the shrieked vocals and the dual guitar parts, which contributes to the "screamo" side of them. But on occasion they'll get into these odd grooves that sound more like a demented version of the Violent Femmes. It's hard to describe, but definitely impressive how they seamlessly fit in this quirk. Enjoy.
